Hebrews 7:1–3
For this aMelchisedec, king of bSalem, priest of cthe most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him; 2 aTo whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of bSalem, which is, King of dpeace; 3 Without father, without mother, †without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto ethe Son of God; abideth a priest fcontinually.

Hebrews 7:1–3 — The New International Version (NIV)
1 This Melchizedek was king of Salem and priest of God Most High. He met Abraham returning from the defeat of the kings and blessed him, 2 and Abraham gave him a tenth of everything. First, the name Melchizedek means “king of righteousness”; then also, “king of Salem” means “king of peace.” 3 Without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, resembling the Son of God, he remains a priest forever.
