Ezekiel 17:13–15

13 And vhath taken of the king’s seed, and made a covenant with him, wand hath taken an oath of him: uhe hath also taken xthe mighty of the land: 14 That the kingdom might be ybase, that it might not lift itself up, but that by keeping of his covenant it might stand. 15 But zhe rebelled against him ain sending his ambassadors abinto Egypt, cthat they might give him horses and much people. dShall he prosper? shall he escape that doeth such things? or eshall he break the covenant, and be delivered?

Ezekiel 17:13–15 — The New International Version (NIV)

13 Then he took a member of the royal family and made a treaty with him, putting him under oath. He also carried away the leading men of the land, 14 so that the kingdom would be brought low, unable to rise again, surviving only by keeping his treaty. 15 But the king rebelled against him by sending his envoys to Egypt to get horses and a large army. Will he succeed? Will he who does such things escape? Will he break the treaty and yet escape?
