Ezekiel 30:3–5

3 For the day is near,

the day of the Lord is near—

a day of clouds,

a time of doom for the nations.

4 A sword will come against Egypt,

and anguish will come upon Cush.

When the slain fall in Egypt,

her wealth will be carried away

and her foundations torn down.

5 Cush and Libya, Lydia and all Arabia, Kub and the people of the covenant land will fall by the sword along with Egypt.

3 For the day is near,

the day of the Lord is near;

it will be a day of clouds,

a time of doom for the nations.

4 A sword shall come upon Egypt,

and anguish shall be in Cush,

when the slain fall in Egypt,

and her wealth is carried away,

and her foundations are torn down.

5 Cush, and Put, and Lud, and all Arabia, and Libya, and the people of the land that is in league, shall fall with them by the sword.

3 for the terrible day is almost here—

the day of the Lord!

It is a day of clouds and gloom,

a day of despair for the nations.

4 A sword will come against Egypt,

and those who are slaughtered will cover the ground.

Its wealth will be carried away

and its foundations destroyed.

The land of Ethiopia will be ravished.

5 Ethiopia, Libya, Lydia, all Arabia,

and all their other allies

will be destroyed in that war.

3 For the day is near,

Even the day of the Lord is near;

It will be a day of clouds, the time of the Gentiles.

4 The sword shall come upon Egypt,

And great anguish shall be in Ethiopia,

When the slain fall in Egypt,

And they take away her wealth,

And her foundations are broken down.

5 “Ethiopia, Libya, Lydia, all the mingled people, Chub, and the men of the lands who are allied, shall fall with them by the sword.”

3 The day is near;

the Lord’s day of judging is near.

It is a cloudy day

and a time when the nations will be judged.

4 An enemy will attack Egypt,

and Cush will tremble with fear.

When the killing begins in Egypt,

her wealth will be taken away,

and her foundations will be torn down.

5 Cush, Put, Lydia, Arabia, Libya, and some of my people who had made an agreement with Egypt will fall dead in war.

3 For the day is near, even the day of Jehovah is near; it shall be a day of clouds, a time of the nations. 4 And a sword shall come upon Egypt, and anguish shall be in Ethiopia, when the slain shall fall in Egypt; and they shall take away her multitude, and her foundations shall be broken down. 5 Ethiopia, and Put, and Lud, and all the mingled people, and Cub, and the children of the land that is in league, shall fall with them by the sword.

3 For the day is at hand, yea, the day of Jehovah is at hand, a day of clouds; it shall be the time of the nations. 4 And the sword shall come upon Egypt, and there shall be anguish in Ethiopia, when the slain shall fall in Egypt, and they shall take away her multitude, and her foundations shall be overthrown. 5 Cush, and Phut, and Lud, and all the mingled people, and Chub, and the children of the land that is in league, shall fall with them by the sword.

3 The day is near. The day of the Lord is near. 

It will be a gloomy day, a time of trouble for the nations. 

4 There will be war in Egypt and anguish in Ethiopia. 

Many Egyptians will fall dead. 

People will take away Egypt’s wealth, 

and its foundations will be torn down. 

5 Sudan, Put, Lud, all the Arabs, the Libyans, 

and people from the promised land will die in battle. 

3 For a day is near;

a day belonging to the Lord is near.

It will be a day of clouds,

a time of doom for the nations.

4 A sword will come against Egypt,

and there will be anguish in Cush

when the slain fall in Egypt,

and its wealth is taken away,

and its foundations are torn down.

5 Cush, Put, and Lud,

and all the various foreign troops,

plus Libya and the men of the covenant land

will fall by the sword along with them.

3 For a day is near,

the day of the Lord is near;

it will be a day of clouds,

a time of doom for the nations.

4 A sword shall come upon Egypt,

and anguish shall be in Cush,

when the slain fall in Egypt,

and its wealth is carried away,

and its foundations are torn down.

5 Cush and Put and Lud and all the mixed populations and Libya and the people of the allied land shall fall with them by the sword.

3 For a day is near;

indeed, a day is near for Yahweh.

A day of cloud,

a time of the nations it will be.

4 And a sword will come in Egypt,

and anguish will be in Cush,

at the falling of the slain in Egypt.

And they will take its wealth,

and its foundation will be demolished.

5 Cush and Put and Lud and all of Arabia and Kub and the people of the land of the treaty with them—by the sword they will fall.”

3 The day is near.

The day of the Lord is coming.

It will be a cloudy day.

The nations have been sentenced to die.

4 I will send Nebuchadnezzar’s sword against Egypt.

Cush will suffer terribly.

Many will die in Egypt.

Then its wealth will be carried away.

Its foundations will be torn down.

5 The people of Cush, Put, Lydia, Libya and the whole land of Arabia will be killed with swords. So will the Jews who live in Egypt. They went there from the covenant land of Israel. And the Egyptians will die too.” ’ ”
