Acts 13:13–22
13 Now when nPaul and his company loosed from oPaphos, they came to pPerga in qPamphylia: and rJohn sdeparting from them returned tto Jerusalem. 14 But when they departed from pPerga, they came to uAntioch in xPisidia, and went yinto the synagogue yzon the sabbath day, and sat down. 15 And after the reading of athe law and bthe prophets cthe rulers of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, Ye men and brethren, if ye have any dword of deexhortation for the people, say on. 16 Then Paul stood up, and fbeckoning with his hand said,
Men of Israel, and gye that fear God, give audience. 17 hThe God of this people of Israel ichose our fathers, and exalted the people kwhen they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and lwith an high arm brought he them out of it. 18 And about the time of mforty years †suffered he their manners in the wilderness. 19 And when nhe had destroyed seven nations in the land of Chanaan, ohe divided their land to them by lot. 20 And after that phe gave unto them judges about the space of qfour hundred and fifty years, until rSamuel the prophet. 21 And afterward sthey desired a king: and tGod gave unto them Saul the son of Cis, ua man of the tribe of Benjamin, by the space of forty years. 22 And wwhen he had removed him, xhe raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, yI have found David the son of Jesse, za man after mine own heart, awhich shall fulfil all my will.
