2 Timothy 2:3–14

3 Thou therefore hendure hardness, as ia good soldier of Jesus Christ. 4 No jman that warreth kentangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. 5 And lif a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not llcrowned, except he strive lawfully. 6 m||The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits. 7 Consider what I say; and mmthe Lord give thee understanding in all things. 8 Remember that Jesus Christ nof the seed of David nnwas raised from the dead oaccording to my gospel: 9 pWherein hI suffer trouble, as an evil doer, qeven unto bonds; but rthe word of God is not bound. 10 Therefore I endure all things sfor tthe elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain uthe salvation which is in Christ Jesus with veternal glory. 11 wIt is a faithful saying: For if xwe be dead with him, we shall also live with him: 12 yIf we suffer, we shall also zreign with him: aif we deny him, he also will deny us: 13 bIf we believe not, yet che abideth faithful: dhe cannot deny himself.

14 Of these things eput them in remembrance, fcharging them before the Lord that they gstrive not about words hto no profit, but to the isubverting of the hearers.
