1 Samuel 2:6–9

mThe Lord killeth, and maketh alive:

He bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up.

The Lord nmaketh poor, and maketh rich:

oHe bringeth low, and lifteth up.

pHe raiseth up the poor out of the dust,

And lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill,

qTo set them among princes,

And to make them inherit the throne of glory:

The Lord sends poverty and wealth;

he humbles and he exalts.

He raises the poor from the dust

and lifts the needy from the ash heap;
