1 John 1:6–2:11

oIf we say that we have fellowship with him, and pwalk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and qthe blood of rJesus Christ his Son scleanseth us from all sin. tIf we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and uthe truth is not in us. vIf we confess our sins, he is xfaithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to scleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 yIf we say that we have not sinned, zwe make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

2 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, awe have an badvocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And che is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but dalso for the sins of the whole world. And hereby we do know that we know him, if we ekeep his commandments. fHe that saith, gI know him, and ekeepeth not his commandments, his a liar, and ithe truth is not in him. But whoso jkeepeth his word, kin him verily is the love of God perfected: lhereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he mabideth in him nought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. Brethren, oI write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment opwhich ye had from the beginning. qThe old commandment is the word pwhich ye have heard from the beginning. Again, ra new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true rrin him and in you: because the sdarkness tis past, and uthe true light now shineth. He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, vis in darkness even until now. 10 wHe that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and xthere is none occasion of stumbling in him. 11 But he that hateth his brother vis in darkness, and ywalketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that vdarkness hath blinded his eyes.
