Mark 2:6–8

Now some of the scribes were sitting there, questioning in their hearts, “Why does this man speak like that? yHe is blaspheming! zWho can forgive sins but God alone?” And immediately Jesus, aperceiving in his spirit that they thus questioned within themselves, said to them, Why do you question these things in your hearts?

Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves, “Why does this fellow talk like that? He’s blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, Why are you thinking these things?
