18 But when it is torn from its spot,

that place disowns it and says, ‘I never saw you.’

19 Surely its life withers away,

and from the soil other plants grow.

18 If he destroy him from his place,

Then it shall deny him, saying, I have not seen thee.

19 Behold, this is the joy of his way,

And out of the earth shall others grow.

18 But when it is uprooted,

it’s as though it never existed!

19 That’s the end of its life,

and others spring up from the earth to replace it.

18 If he is destroyed from his place,

Then it will deny him, saying, ‘I have not seen you.’

19 “Behold, this is the joy of His way,

And out of the earth others will grow.

18 But if a plant is torn from its place,

then that place rejects it and says, ‘I never saw you.’

19 Now joy has gone away;

other plants grow up from the same dirt.

18 If he be destroyed from his place,

Then it shall deny him, saying, I have not seen thee.

19 Behold, this is the joy of his way;

And out of the earth shall others spring.

18 If he destroy him from his place, then it shall deny him: I have not seen thee! 19 Behold, this is the joy of his way, and out of the dust shall others grow.

18 But when it is uprooted from its place, 

⸤the ground⸥ denies it ⸤and says⸥, ‘I never saw you!’ 

19 That is its joy in this life, 

and others sprout from the same ground to ⸤take its place⸥.

it will deny knowing him, saying, “I never saw you.”

19 Surely this is the joy of his way of life;

yet others will sprout from the dust.

18 If they are destroyed from their place,

then it will deny them, saying, ‘I have never seen you.’

19 See, these are their happy ways,

and out of the earth still others will spring.

18 If he destroys him from his place,

then it deceives him, saying, ‘I have never seen you.’

19 Look, this is the joy of his way,

and from dust others will spring up.

18 But when a plant is pulled up from its spot,

that place says, ‘I never saw you.’

19 The life of that plant is sure to dry up.

But from the same soil other plants will grow.

18 “If he is removed from his place,

Then it will deny him, saying, ‘I never saw you.’

19 “Behold, this is the joy of His way;

And out of the dust others will spring.
