10 To whom can I speak and give warning?

Who will listen to me?

Their ears are closed

so they cannot hear.

The word of the Lord is offensive to them;

they find no pleasure in it.

11 But I am full of the wrath of the Lord,

and I cannot hold it in.

“Pour it out on the children in the street

and on the young men gathered together;

both husband and wife will be caught in it,

and the old, those weighed down with years.

10 To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of the Lord is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it. 11 Therefore I am full of the fury of the Lord; I am weary with holding in: I will pour it out upon the children abroad, and upon the assembly of young men together: for even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the aged with him that is full of days.

10 To whom can I give warning?

Who will listen when I speak?

Their ears are closed,

and they cannot hear.

They scorn the word of the Lord.

They don’t want to listen at all.

11 So now I am filled with the Lord’s fury.

Yes, I am tired of holding it in!

“I will pour out my fury on children playing in the streets

and on gatherings of young men,

on husbands and wives

and on those who are old and gray.

10 To whom shall I speak and give warning,

That they may hear?

Indeed their ear is uncircumcised,

And they cannot give heed.

Behold, the word of the Lord is a reproach to them;

They have no delight in it.

11 Therefore I am full of the fury of the Lord.

I am weary of holding it in.

“I will pour it out on the children outside,

And on the assembly of young men together;

For even the husband shall be taken with the wife,

The aged with him who is full of days.

10 To whom can I speak? Whom can I warn?

Who will listen to me?

The people of Israel have closed ears,

so they cannot hear my warnings.

They don’t like the word of the Lord;

they don’t want to listen to it!

11 But I am full of the anger of the Lord,

and I am tired of holding it in.

“Pour out my anger on the children who play in the street

and on the young men gathered together.

A husband and his wife will both be caught in his anger,

as will the very old.

10 To whom shall I speak and testify, that they may hear? behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of Jehovah is become unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it. 11 Therefore I am full of the wrath of Jehovah; I am weary with holding in: pour it out upon the children in the street, and upon the assembly of young men together; for even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the aged with him that is full of days.

Whom can I give a warning to? 

Who will listen? 

Their ears are plugged, 

and they aren’t able to pay attention. 

When the Lord speaks his word to them, 

they show contempt for it and object to it. 

11 I am filled with the anger of the Lord. 

I am tired of holding it in. 

“Pour it out on the children in the street 

and on the gangs of young men. 

A man and his wife will be taken away 

as well as very old people. 

10 Who can I speak to and give such a warning

that they will listen?

Look, their ear is uncircumcised,

so they cannot pay attention.

See, the word of the Lord has become contemptible to them—

they find no pleasure in it.

11 But I am full of the Lord’s wrath;

I am tired of holding it back.

Pour it out on the children in the street,

on the gang of young men as well.

For both husband and wife will be captured,

the old with the very old.

10 To whom shall I speak and give warning,

that they may hear?

See, their ears are closed,

they cannot listen.

The word of the Lord is to them an object of scorn;

they take no pleasure in it.

11 But I am full of the wrath of the Lord;

I am weary of holding it in.

Pour it out on the children in the street,

and on the gatherings of young men as well;

both husband and wife shall be taken,

the old folk and the very aged.

10 To whom shall I speak and admonish,

that they may hear?

Look, their ears are closed,

and they are not able to listen attentively.

Look, the word of Yahweh is to them an object of scorn,

they do not delight in it.

11 But I am full with the wrath of Yahweh,

I struggle to hold it in.

Pour it out on the children in the street,

and on the assemblies of young men at the same time.

For even husband with wife will get trapped,

the old with him who is full of days.

10 Who can I speak to? Who can I warn?

Who will even listen to me?

Their ears are closed

so they can’t hear.

The Lord’s message displeases them.

They don’t take any delight in it.

11 But the Lord’s anger burns inside me.

I can no longer hold it in.

The Lord says to me, “Pour out my anger on the children in the street.

Pour it out on the young people who are gathered together.

Husband and wife alike will be caught in it.

So will those who are very old.
