17 “Those who consecrate and purify themselves to go into the gardens, following one who is among those who eat the flesh of pigs, rats and other unclean things—they will meet their end together with the one they follow,” declares the Lord.

18 “And I, because of what they have planned and done, am about to come and gather the people of all nations and languages, and they will come and see my glory.

17 They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens

Behind one tree in the midst,

Eating swine’s flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse,

Shall be consumed together, saith the Lord.

18 For I know their works and their thoughts:

It shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues;

And they shall come, and see my glory.

17 “Those who ‘consecrate’ and ‘purify’ themselves in a sacred garden with its idol in the center—feasting on pork and rats and other detestable meats—will come to a terrible end,” says the Lord.

18 “I can see what they are doing, and I know what they are thinking. So I will gather all nations and peoples together, and they will see my glory.

17 “Those who sanctify themselves and purify themselves,

To go to the gardens

After an idol in the midst,

Eating swine’s flesh and the abomination and the mouse,

Shall be consumed together,” says the Lord.

18 “For I know their works and their thoughts. It shall be that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come and see My glory.

17 “These people make themselves holy and pure to go to worship their gods in their gardens. Following each other into their special gardens, they eat the meat of pigs and rats and other hateful things. But they will all be destroyed together,” says the Lord.

18 “I know they have evil thoughts and do evil things, so I am coming to punish them. I will gather all nations and all people, and they will come together and see my glory.

17 They that sanctify themselves and purify themselves to go unto the gardens, behind one in the midst, eating swine’s flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, they shall come to an end together, saith Jehovah.

18 For I know their works and their thoughts: the time cometh, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and shall see my glory.

17 They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one in the midst; that eat swine’s flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall perish together, saith Jehovah. 18 And I, —their works and their thoughts are before me. …The time cometh for the gathering of all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory.

17 People make themselves holy 

and prepare themselves for their garden rituals. 

They go into the garden 

and devour pork, disgusting things, and mice. 

“They will come to an end at the same time,” 

declares the Lord. 

18 Because of their actions and their thoughts, 

I am coming to gather the nations of every language. 

They will come and see my glory. 

17 “Those who dedicate and purify themselves to enter the groves following their leader, eating meat from pigs, vermin, and rats, will perish together.”

This is the Lord’s declaration.

18 “Knowing their works and their thoughts, I have come to gather all nations and languages; they will come and see My glory.

17 Those who sanctify and purify themselves to go into the gardens, following the one in the center, eating the flesh of pigs, vermin, and rodents, shall come to an end together, says the Lord, 18 for I know their works and their thoughts.

I am coming to gather all nations and tongues, and they shall come and shall see my glory,

17 Those who sanctify themselves

and those who cleanse themselves to go into the gardens after the one in the middle,

eating the flesh of swine

and detestable things and rodents together

shall come to an end!” declares Yahweh.

18 “And I—their works and thoughts!—am about to come to gather all nations and tongues,

and they shall come and see my glory.

17 “Some people set themselves apart and make themselves pure. They do it so they can go into the gardens to worship other gods. They do what the worship leader tells them to do. They eat the meat of pigs and rats. They also eat other things I hate. All of those people will come to a horrible end,” announces the Lord.

18 “They have done many evil things. And they plan to do even more. So I will come and gather the people of every nation and language. They will see my glory when I act.

Following one in the center,

Who eat swine’s flesh, detestable things and mice,

Will come to an end altogether,” declares the Lord.

18 “For I know their works and their thoughts; the time is coming to gather all nations and tongues. And they shall come and see My glory.
