10 “ ‘Your mother was like a vine in your vineyard

planted by the water;

it was fruitful and full of branches

because of abundant water.

11 Its branches were strong,

fit for a ruler’s scepter.

It towered high

above the thick foliage,

conspicuous for its height

and for its many branches.

10 Thy mother is like a vine in thy blood, planted by the waters: she was fruitful and full of branches by reason of many waters. 11 And she had strong rods for the sceptres of them that bare rule, and her stature was exalted among the thick branches, and she appeared in her height with the multitude of her branches.

10 “Your mother was like a vine

planted by the water’s edge.

It had lush, green foliage

because of the abundant water.

11 Its branches became strong—

strong enough to be a ruler’s scepter.

It grew very tall,

towering above all others.

It stood out because of its height

and its many lush branches.

10 ‘Your mother was like a vine in your bloodline,

Planted by the waters,

Fruitful and full of branches

Because of many waters.

11 She had strong branches for scepters of rulers.

She towered in stature above the thick branches,

And was seen in her height amid the dense foliage.

10 “ ‘Your mother was like a vine in your vineyard,

planted beside the water.

The vine had many branches and gave much fruit,

because there was plenty of water.

11 The vine had strong branches,

good enough for a king’s scepter.

The vine became tall

among the thick branches.

And it was seen, because it was tall

with many branches.

10 Thy mother was like a vine, in thy blood, planted by the waters: it was fruitful and full of branches by reason of many waters. 11 And it had strong rods for the sceptres of them that bare rule, and their stature was exalted among the thick boughs, and they were seen in their height with the multitude of their branches.

10 Your mother was like a grapevine 

that was planted near water. 

It had a lot of fruit and many branches 

because there was plenty of water. 

11 Its branches were strong. 

They were used to make scepters for kings. 

It grew to be tall with many branches around it, 

and everyone saw it because of its many branches. 

10 Your mother was like a vine in your vineyard,

planted by the water;

it was fruitful and full of branches

because of plentiful waters.

11 It had strong branches, fit for the scepters of rulers;

its height towered among the clouds.

So it was conspicuous for its height

as well as its many branches.

10 Your mother was like a vine in a vineyard

transplanted by the water,

fruitful and full of branches

from abundant water.

11 Its strongest stem became

a ruler’s scepter;

it towered aloft

among the thick boughs;

it stood out in its height

with its mass of branches.

10 Your mother was like the vine in your vineyard;

planted fruitfully beside water,

and it was full of branches

from many waters.

11 And she produced branches of strength

to scepters of rulers;

its height became tall

between thick foliage,

and it was seen because of its tallness

among the abundance of its branches.

10 “ ‘Israel, you were like a vine in a vineyard.

It was planted near water.

It had a lot of fruit and many branches.

There was plenty of water.

11 Its branches were strong.

Each was good enough to be made into a ruler’s rod.

The vine grew high

above all of the leaves.

It stood out because it was so tall

and had so many branches.

10 ‘Your mother was like a vine in your vineyard,

Planted by the waters;

It was fruitful and full of branches

Because of abundant waters.

11 ‘And it had strong branches fit for scepters of rulers,

And its height was raised above the clouds

So that it was seen in its height with the mass of its branches.
