2 “Son of man, set your face against Pharaoh king of Egypt and prophesy against him and against all Egypt. 3 Speak to him and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says:

“ ‘I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt,

you great monster lying among your streams.

You say, “The Nile belongs to me;

I made it for myself.”

4 But I will put hooks in your jaws

and make the fish of your streams stick to your scales.

I will pull you out from among your streams,

with all the fish sticking to your scales.

5 I will leave you in the desert,

you and all the fish of your streams.

You will fall on the open field

and not be gathered or picked up.

I will give you as food

to the beasts of the earth and the birds of the sky.

2 Son of man, set thy face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him, and against all Egypt: 3 Speak, and say, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great dragon that lieth in the midst of his rivers, which hath said, My river is mine own, and I have made it for myself. 4 But I will put hooks in thy jaws, and I will cause the fish of thy rivers to stick unto thy scales, and I will bring thee up out of the midst of thy rivers, and all the fish of thy rivers shall stick unto thy scales. 5 And I will leave thee thrown into the wilderness, thee and all the fish of thy rivers: thou shalt fall upon the open fields; thou shalt not be brought together, nor gathered: I have given thee for meat to the beasts of the field and to the fowls of the heaven.

2 “Son of man, turn and face Egypt and prophesy against Pharaoh the king and all the people of Egypt. 3 Give them this message from the Sovereign Lord:

“I am your enemy, O Pharaoh, king of Egypt—

you great monster, lurking in the streams of the Nile.

For you have said, ‘The Nile River is mine;

I made it for myself.’

4 I will put hooks in your jaws

and drag you out on the land

with fish sticking to your scales.

5 I will leave you and all your fish

stranded in the wilderness to die.

You will lie unburied on the open ground,

for I have given you as food to the wild animals and birds.

2 “Son of man, set your face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him, and against all Egypt. 3 Speak, and say, ‘Thus says the Lord God:

“Behold, I am against you,

O Pharaoh king of Egypt,

O great monster who lies in the midst of his rivers,

Who has said, ‘My River is my own;

I have made it for myself.’

4 But I will put hooks in your jaws,

And cause the fish of your rivers to stick to your scales;

I will bring you up out of the midst of your rivers,

And all the fish in your rivers will stick to your scales.

5 I will leave you in the wilderness,

You and all the fish of your rivers;

You shall fall on the open field;

You shall not be picked up or gathered.

I have given you as food

To the beasts of the field

And to the birds of the heavens.

2 “Human, look toward the king of Egypt, and prophesy against him and all Egypt. 3 Say: ‘This is what the Lord God says:

I am against you, king of Egypt.

You are like a great crocodile that lies in the Nile River.

You say, “The Nile is mine;

I made it for myself.”

4 But I will put hooks in your jaws,

and I will make the fish of the Nile stick to your sides.

I will pull you up out of your rivers,

with all the fish sticking to your sides.

5 I will leave you in the desert,

you and all the fish from your rivers.

You will fall onto the ground;

you will not be picked up or buried.

I have given you to the wild animals

and to the birds of the sky for food.

2 Son of man, set thy face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him, and against all Egypt; 3 speak, and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great monster that lieth in the midst of his rivers, that hath said, My river is mine own, and I have made it for myself. 4 And I will put hooks in thy jaws, and I will cause the fish of thy rivers to stick unto thy scales; and I will bring thee up out of the midst of thy rivers, with all the fish of thy rivers which stick unto thy scales. 5 And I will cast thee forth into the wilderness, thee and all the fish of thy rivers: thou shalt fall upon the open field; thou shalt not be brought together, nor gathered; I have given thee for food to the beasts of the earth and to the birds of the heavens.

2 Son of man, set thy face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him, and against the whole of Egypt; 3 speak, and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great monster that lieth in the midst of his rivers, which saith, My river is mine own, and I made it for myself. 4 And I will put hooks in thy jaws, and I will cause the fish of thy rivers to stick unto thy scales, and I will bring thee up out of the midst of thy rivers, and all the fish of thy rivers shall stick unto thy scales; 5 and I will cast thee into the wilderness, thee and all the fish of thy rivers: thou shalt fall upon the open field; thou shalt not be brought together nor gathered: I will give thee for meat to the beasts of the earth and to the fowl of the heavens.

2 “Son of man, turn to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and prophesy against him and against all Egypt. 3 Tell him, ‘This is what the Almighty Lord says: 

I’m against you, Pharaoh, king of Egypt. 

You are like a monster crocodile lying in the Nile River. 

You say, “The Nile River is mine. I made it for myself.” 

4 “ ‘I will put hooks in your jaws 

and make the fish in the Nile River stick to your scales. 

I will pull you out of your river 

with all the fish in the Nile sticking to your scales. 

5 I will leave you in the desert, you and all the fish from the Nile. 

You will fall in an open field. 

No one will pick you up or bury you. 

I will feed you to wild animals and birds. 

2 “Son of man, turn your face toward Pharaoh king of Egypt and prophesy against him and against all of Egypt. 3 Speak to him and say: This is what the Lord God says:

Look, I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt,

the great monster lying in the middle of his Nile,

who says, ‘My Nile is my own;

I made it for myself.’

4 I will put hooks in your jaws

and make the fish of your streams

cling to your scales.

I will haul you up

from the middle of your Nile,

and all the fish of your streams

will cling to your scales.

5 I will leave you in the desert,

you and all the fish of your streams.

You will fall on the open ground

and will not be taken away

or gathered for burial.

I have given you

to the beasts of the earth

and the birds of the sky as food.

2 Mortal, set your face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him and against all Egypt; 3 speak, and say, Thus says the Lord God:

I am against you,

Pharaoh king of Egypt,

the great dragon sprawling

in the midst of its channels,

saying, “My Nile is my own;

I made it for myself.”

4 I will put hooks in your jaws,

and make the fish of your channels stick to your scales.

I will draw you up from your channels,

with all the fish of your channels

sticking to your scales.

5 I will fling you into the wilderness,

you and all the fish of your channels;

you shall fall in the open field,

and not be gathered and buried.

To the animals of the earth and to the birds of the air

I have given you as food.

2 “Son of man, set your face against Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, and prophesy against him and against Egypt, all of it. 3 Speak, and you must say, ‘thus says the Lord Yahweh:

“Look! I am against you,

Pharaoh, king of Egypt,

the great sea monster,

the one lying down

in the midst of his Nile streams,

who says to me, “It is my Nile, and I made it for myself.”

4 And so I will put hooks in your jawbones,

and I will make the fish of your Nile streams stick to your scales,

and I will bring you up from the midst of your Nile streams,

and all of the fish of your Nile streams which cling to your scales.

5 And I will fling you to the desert,

you and all the fish of your Nile streams.

On the surface of the field you will fall;

you will not be gathered,

and you will not be assembled.

To the animals of the field

and to the birds of the heavens

I will give you as food.

2 “Son of man, turn your attention to Pharaoh Hophra. He is king of Egypt. Prophesy against him and the whole land of Egypt. 3 Tell him, ‘The Lord and King says,

“ ‘ “Pharaoh Hophra, I am against you.

King of Egypt, you are like a huge monster

lying among your streams.

You say, ‘The Nile River belongs to me.

I made it for myself.’

4 But I will put hooks in your jaws.

I will make the fish in your streams

stick to your scales.

I will pull you out from among your streams.

All of the fish will stick to your scales.

5 I will leave you out in the desert.

All of the fish in your streams

will be there with you.

You will fall down in an open field.

You will not be picked up.

I will feed you to the wild animals

and to the birds of the air.

2 “Son of man, set your face against Pharaoh king of Egypt and prophesy against him and against all Egypt.

3 “Speak and say, ‘Thus says the Lord God,

“Behold, I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt,

The great monster that lies in the midst of his rivers,

That has said, ‘My Nile is mine, and I myself have made it.’

4 “I will put hooks in your jaws

And make the fish of your rivers cling to your scales.

And I will bring you up out of the midst of your rivers,

And all the fish of your rivers will cling to your scales.

5 “I will abandon you to the wilderness, you and all the fish of your rivers;

You will fall on the open field; you will not be brought together or gathered.

I have given you for food to the beasts of the earth and to the birds of the sky.
