10 The hand of the Lord will rest on this mountain;

but Moab will be trampled in their land

as straw is trampled down in the manure.

11 They will stretch out their hands in it,

as swimmers stretch out their hands to swim.

God will bring down their pride

despite the cleverness of their hands.

12 He will bring down your high fortified walls

and lay them low;

he will bring them down to the ground,

to the very dust.

10 For in this mountain shall the hand of the Lord rest,

And Moab shall be trodden down under him,

Even as straw is trodden down for the dunghill.

11 And he shall spread forth his hands in the midst of them,

As he that swimmeth spreadeth forth his hands to swim:

And he shall bring down their pride

Together with the spoils of their hands.

12 And the fortress of the high fort of thy walls shall he bring down,

Lay low, and bring to the ground, even to the dust.

10 For the Lord’s hand of blessing will rest on Jerusalem.

But Moab will be crushed.

It will be like straw trampled down and left to rot.

11 God will push down Moab’s people

as a swimmer pushes down water with his hands.

He will end their pride

and all their evil works.

12 The high walls of Moab will be demolished.

They will be brought down to the ground,

down into the dust.

10 For on this mountain the hand of the Lord will rest,

And Moab shall be trampled down under Him,

As straw is trampled down for the refuse heap.

11 And He will spread out His hands in their midst

As a swimmer reaches out to swim,

And He will bring down their pride

Together with the trickery of their hands.

12 The fortress of the high fort of your walls

He will bring down, lay low,

And bring to the ground, down to the dust.

10 The Lord will protect Jerusalem,

but he will crush our enemy Moab

like straw that is trampled down in the manure.

11 They will spread their arms in it

like a person who is swimming.

But God will bring down their pride,

and all the clever things they have made will mean nothing.

12 Moab’s high walls protect them,

but God will destroy these walls.

He will throw them down to the ground,

even to the dust.

10 For in this mountain will the hand of Jehovah rest; and Moab shall be trodden down in his place, even as straw is trodden down in the water of the dung-hill. 11 And he shall spread forth his hands in the midst thereof, as he that swimmeth spreadeth forth his hands to swim; but Jehovah will lay low his pride together with the craft of his hands. 12 And the high fortress of thy walls hath he brought down, laid low, and brought to the ground, even to the dust.

10 The Lord’s power will be on this mountain. 

Moab will be trampled beneath him 

like straw that is trampled in a pile of manure. 

11 The Moabites will stretch out their hands in the manure 

like swimmers who stretch out their hands to swim. 

⸤The Lord⸥ will humble those arrogant people 

despite the movements of their hands. 

12 He will bring down Moab’s high fortified walls, 

level them, and throw them into the dust on the ground. 

10 For the Lord’s power will rest on this mountain.

But Moab will be trampled in his place

as straw is trampled in a dung pile.

11 He will spread out his arms in the middle of it,

as a swimmer spreads out his arms to swim.

His pride will be brought low,

along with the trickery of his hands.

12 The high-walled fortress will be brought down,

thrown to the ground, to the dust.

10 For the hand of the Lord will rest on this mountain.

The Moabites shall be trodden down in their place

as straw is trodden down in a dung-pit.

11 Though they spread out their hands in the midst of it,

as swimmers spread out their hands to swim,

their pride will be laid low despite the struggle of their hands.

12 The high fortifications of his walls will be brought down,

laid low, cast to the ground, even to the dust.

10 For the hand of Yahweh will rest on this mountain,

and Moab shall be trampled down under him

as a heap of straw is trampled down in waters of a dung heap.

11 And it will spread out its hands in the midst of it,

just as the swimmer spreads out to swim,

and its pride will be brought low with the movement of its hands.

12 And he will throw down the fortification of the high point of your walls;

he will bring it low;

he will send it to the ground,

to the dust.

10 The Lord’s powerful hand will keep Mount Zion safe.

But he will walk all over Moab.

Its people will be crushed,

just as straw is crushed in animal waste.

11 They will try to swim their way out of it.

They will spread their hands out in it,

just as a swimmer spreads his hands out to swim.

But God will bring down Moab’s pride.

None of their skill will help them.

12 He will pull down their high, strong walls.

He will bring them down to the ground.

He’ll bring them right down to the dust.

As straw is trodden down in the water of a manure pile.

11 And he will spread out his hands in the middle of it

As a swimmer spreads out his hands to swim,

But the Lord will lay low his pride together with the trickery of his hands.

12 The unassailable fortifications of your walls He will bring down,

Lay low and cast to the ground, even to the dust.
