Mark 14:26–31; Luke 22:34, 39; John 13:37, 38
30 dAnd when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
31 Then Jesus said to them, e“All of you will fbe 6made to stumble because of Me this night, for it is written:
g‘I will strike the Shepherd,
And the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’
32 But after I have been raised, hI will go before you to Galilee.”
33 Peter answered and said to Him, “Even if all are 7made to stumble because of You, I will never be made to stumble.”
34 Jesus said to him, i“Assuredly, I say to you that this night, before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.”
35 Peter said to Him, “Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You!”
And so said all the disciples.

About The New King James VersionThe New King James Version is a total update of the 1611 King James Version, also known as the "Authorized Version." Every attempt has been made to maintain the beauty of the original version while updating the English grammar to contemporary style and usage. The result is much better "readability." It is noteworthy that the NKJV is one of the few modern translations still based on the "Western" or "Byzantine" manuscript tradition. This makes the New King James Version an invaluable aid to comparative English Bible study. |
